idealistic Peace Corps volunteers. But the progression of moral compromises has taken its toll--in the worst way imaginable. In this three monologue journey, we sit in three hotel rooms in three different parts of the world and watch a man and a woman face down the dark truth of their lives and their allegiances--searching for answers and aching for redemption. |

In our Third Season: "Our American Table," we've examined America's relationship to food and the rituals surrounding it. THE DINING ROOM, CURSE OF THE STARVING CLASS and PICNIC have been rich contributions to the staged readings of great American plays we've offered since October 2005. Now OAT Co. steps up to a new level with our first full production, and a fitting culmination of this season's theme. With the recent world food crisis filling the headlines, this couldn't be a more timely piece of theater. THREE HOTELS will be directed by Artistic Director Susanna Burney, with Todd Licea as Ken Hoyle, and Lisa Carswell as Barbara. Tim Crist is the Stage Manager, Andrew Smith lighting designer, Deborah Skorstad will design costumes, and Susanna Burney and Bliss Kolb will design the set. Performances of THREE HOTELS are at 8:00pm, and will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday from June 12 - June 28 at Theatre Off Jackson. The first Thursday performance, June 12th is a Preview, with a special OPENING NIGHT GALA on Friday, June 13th. So no one hesitates to attend for lack of funds, ALL performances are pay what you will. Read the reviews "The new troupe Our American Theatre has what's required for a fine liftoff in its first fullproduction, "Three Hotels." "[Licea's]...virtuosic ability to compartmentalize elevates Three Hotels from a dour drama about a corrupt businessman into something rich and heartbreaking, at once highly specific and universal." "...an incredibly personal look at individual, internal struggle." |
